Apple has begun selling unlocked iPhone 3G models in Hong Kong, allowing people to use it with any mobile phone carrier.

On its Hong Kong website, the Cupertino-based company is advertising direct sales of iPhone 3G, saying people can “buy directly from Apple” and choose their own carrier. The 8GB version was on sale for $5,400 Hong Kong dollars ($695) while the 16GB version costs HK$6,200 ($798). continue reading…

The new iPhone 3G flaunts the same 3.5-inch display (480 x 320 pixels) and has grown around 1mm in width, length and thickness. The sweet tri-band HSDPA support is all there, allowing much faster data transfers than EDGE (but you know that already). LG launched a new mobile phone under the name of “Wine”, the SV390 / LV3900 model, coming after another Wine, the SV300, which hit the market in the summer of 2007. The new Wine is obviously an improved device, although it has the same clamshell form factor, and it was presented these days in South Korea, LG’s home country. continue reading…
